Against brokerage model- keep our service facilitators!

Against brokerage model- keep our service facilitators!

Service facilitation is an important part of receiving the support and services I need to live safely, independently, and with dignity. Having the right to choose my own service facilitator gives me a voice in my care and allows me to work with someone I feel comfortable with and trust.

Building a strong relationship with a service facilitator takes time, effort, communication, and understanding from both sides. We have worked hard together to build that relationship and establish trust. Over time, we have developed an understanding of my individual needs, goals, and circumstances. That trust and familiarity are invaluable, and they cannot simply be replaced by assigning me someone new or requiring me to work with a broker I did not choose.

Having the freedom to choose who facilitates my services is about more than just a preference. It is about my independence, my peace of mind, and my right to have control over decisions that affect my life. I should not have to start over and rebuild a relationship that I have already worked so hard to establish with someone who knows me, understands me, and has earned my trust.

I urge you to consider the impact this change could have on individuals and families who have invested time and effort into building these important relationships. Taking away our ability to choose our service facilitators disregards the trust we have established and the value of having someone who understands our unique needs.

Please protect our right to choose our own service facilitators. We have worked hard to build these relationships, and we deserve the opportunity to continue working with people we know and trust. Our choices matter, our relationships matter, and our independence matters. Please allow us to keep the trusted support systems we have worked so hard to build.
