My name is Kimberly and I’m a proud and involved member of Oxford House Ann Guthmiller. Throughout my time living under the Oxford House Model, I have gained my voice back, something I lost over 27 years ago. Oxford House remaining self governing is extremely important in order to maintain all we do within our homes and communities. The accountability and way we live can only be done because of the model we have in place today. I wouldn’t be half the person I am without Oxford House.  I support rules that keep people safe, but rules that require staff or assume every home is a commercial business would keep Oxford Houses from operating in Virginia, even though research shows our model gets the best results. Please change those rules, and please clarify whether house members are considered the operator.
