I filed two complaints with photos and medical documentation in early 2026 and another in May 2026.  I reiterated the criticality of an immediate response as it jeopardized the safety of my loved one.  I received a canned letter that an unannounced inspection would be conducted which has not been done.  VDH is way too lax with nursing homes and not holding them accountable.  The nursing homes cover their tracks when they get word from other facilities close by that VDH was just there.  I have photos of black mold, black water from the floor, bed sores, sepsis and many others that should have never happened.  I've read the reports with CMS and none of the real problems are addressed such as staffing or meds not being given on time, pressure wounds, unhealthy food, falls, and many others.  Virginia has failed the most vulnerable population as many of them literally do not have a voice or fear of retaliation if they speak up.
