CPST proposed regulations

3.3.1 and 3.3.2  There are already significant training requirements through STEP VA. It would be helpful to coordinate the training requirements between DMAS and DBHDS.

“Clinical best practice guidelines shall be maintained and regularly updated in agency policy, particularly for the most common presenting problems to include Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders (including best practices for first episode psychosis), Bipolar I and II, Major Depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).”  These are practice guidelines, not policy.  They do not belong in a policy manual.

“Application and education on clinical best practice guidelines and evidence-based approaches shall be a priority focus in supervision and other reflective and professional development opportunities offered by the agency to staff.”  Many of the EBP’s listed have expensive training costs.  Will DMAS be providing training to providers?
