chronic nature of SMI

CPST presents as a viable option for treatment for individuals with serious mental illness.  However, it does not adequately address the whole health and long term needs of those living with persistent and severe mental illness.  If every other service has to be considered or tried before CPST admission, why would an individual who is not making progress in CPST, have to be referred to other EBP service.  What other service does DMAS recommend for individual who does not make diagnostic criteria for a standalone service, does not make progress in outpatient settings, and in CPST is not making progress?  What other Medicaid service is available?
