I support draft regulations as presented without any changes. We work hard in school to not only focus our attention on the eye and its anatomy, but also study the use of lasers. We also have multiple rotation sites where we get hands on experience with laser procedures, including Nd:YAG capsulotomies, with licensed practitioners who have performed several laser procedures. There are abundant opportunities for us to learn the practice of lasers and perform them safely on live patients.
