no telehealth community engagement, community coaching or day support

Telehealth is a viable resource for administrative planning, therapy, and even simple medical concerns, however, day support, community coaching and community engagement are by nature social and in person activities. Offering them in a telehealth format places an unfair burden on residential providers who have to staff activities while another entity is paid to provide that activity and guts the true benefit and purpose of those activities. The key functions of day support, community coaching and engagement are social connection, support in leisure activities, support in accessing and finding meaningful activities IN THE community. If we take out the community and the social connection of these activities, we are left with a skeleton that does not meet the intent or the needs of the individuals the program is designed to serve.
