Telehealth as an appropriate method to provide services

Providing telehealth for services that are meant to promote community inclusion and activities in the community - such as community coaching, group day services, group and individual supported employment, workplace assistance, and services that should address needs for support in the home - should be provided in the community or in the home.  Providing these services via telehealth should only take place if very limited exceptions are met - such as the health concerns we experienced during the pandemic, or for limited meetings to address limited skills that can be done on-line - for example, learning to speak and interact appropriately on zoom.  Especially for individuals who experience speech processing disorders, telehealth is a particularly poor support.

Thank you.
