We lived in Hampton Roads from 1992 to 2017, and participated in several outdoor groups, including the Williamsburg Bird Club, and we supported the Wildlife Center of Virginia.  We were very aware of the importance of the osprey population in the health of the Chesapeake Bay environment.  Please take the necessary measures to ensure that there are adequate menhaden to feed new generations of ospreys.  The drop in the population of young ospreys, due to inadequate availability of the fish upon which they rely, is a threat to the overall health of the Bay.
