Since VMRC is the arbiter of allocation of menhaden as a public resource in Virginia, please support the requests in this petition. I am a recreational angler, who spends a lot of money on gasoline, boat maintenance, taxes, bait and tackle to fish the Chesapeake Bay.

The menhaden baycap is a good starting point for your allocating this public resource between commercial harvesters of menhaden and recreational anglers. Allocate one-half the baycap to the commercial harvesters and the other half to recreational anglers. We will leave our half in the bay to provide forage to the many other fish and wildlife that depend on menhaden for their survival.
