I am a retired marine biologist and I absolutely support this petition. Fish populations across the board need smart, targeted protection such as this would provide. It is designed to support the menhaden, while minimizing impacts on those who make their living from the fishery. It’s well known that well-structured, science based regulations can benefit both the protected species and commercial interests.
