Multiple studies have demonstrated menhaden decline. The status quo of the menhaden reduction fishery is not sustainable. Further studies are needed to confirm the validity of the Bay Cap as they relate to ecological benchmarks. I support this petition in its effort impart a temporary moratorium on this fishery, complete needed studies, and to restore balance to the ecology of the Bay. 

Please protect the Atlantic Menhaden in the Bay, so that they may continue to support people and the earth as they have for millennia.
