This petition has done an outstanding job of providing VMRC with an enormous amount of information to support its recommendations.  The ongoing osprey nest failure crisis is an urgent indicator of the severe impact on the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem caused by the continued industrial reduction fishing of menhaden. A moratorium at this point is critical.

Virginia should be a leader in conservation.  On this issue - management of the precious Virginia resource called menhaden - we are failing miserably.  I am so ashamed.
