This petition is based on lies and has been proven so by scientific evidence numerous times but somehow still continues to be perpetuated. Look no further than the sport fishermen who overfish their prize fish and think that the litter they pour into the water from their boats have no effect on the environment. Attacking the menhaden fishery which provides countless jobs and community support for our rural area is asking for another Detroit like situation where the absence of this business will not only effect those that work here, but also the other businesses that are dependent on it in the surrounding areas. This fishery is continuously targeted, and I hope only the factual information will be used during the decision-making process.
