In light of how difficult it is to find anyone who meets the qualifications for Director, we feel that years of experience should count toward qualifications. Similarly to lead teacher we feel there should be x number of years' experience in childcare and x number of hours training in specific topics. We have had many applicants that have run in home childcares for several years with a wealth of knowledge that do not qualify to run a center but would certainly be a wonderful leader and director. Also, it would be great if there was a state orientation training for Directors separate from the general orientation training.
