I support this petition and the recommendations contained within.

 

My concern is that bunker / menhaden / pogies are the primary food source of so many of our fish and other creatures.  Killing them before their time and at epic scale disrupts the food chain and impacts other populations.  Tuna, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Northern Weakfish are all facing population strain and are way under their historic populations.

 

Please do the right thing as what we've been doing has not been working.  Maximum sustainable yield is a losing game.
