I do not support this petition.

For a middle school science recap, the definition of science, according to the Oxford English Dictionary is: the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained. Now, with that definition in mind, the observations, experiments and testing of theories against the evidence obtained all show that the menhaden population is thriving and that overfishing is not occurring. The science is there. The science (as described in the definition above) also shows that rockfish are being overfished and has nothing to do with the menhaden industry. 

This is yet another attempt to harm a historical industry, that many families in this area rely on. Opinions don't make reliable science. Facts, experiments, and hard data make reliable science.
