I do not support this petition as it is another attempt to dispose of a fishing industry that has been around for 146 years. Groups that continue to push their agenda to kick menhaden fishing out of the bay are not interested in discussing the reliable and substantial science that indicates the menhaden stock is healthy, and the fishery leaves more than enough menhaden in the water for its predators.

I hope that the decision makers are not only able to base their decisions on science, but also able to take into account the employees, families, and communities that would be affected if the unfounded accusations that groups such as this repeatedly make are ever successful.
