I am a Montessori toddler teacher and I’d like to advocate for floor beds in childcare along with the abandonment of “container baby” items. Floor beds provide children with safety, free movement, and a sense of independence. Cribs, swings, jumpers & other items restrict the child from proper development of motor skills. It is essential that children are able to grasp their own development through experiences within their natural environment and they can’t do this if they are constantly trapped.
