I support this petition. Please shut down the commercial menhaden fishery in VA and save our bay. All the fish and birds and mammals and reptiles and amphibians in the broader Chesapeake Bay ecosystem rely heavily on menhaden as a primary forage species, but when omega protein is allowed to commercially net so many of this important little fish, the broader ecosystem suffers. Prioritize the health of our Chesapeake Bay and prohibit the commercial menhaden fishery from operating in Virginia. Thank you. Our children will thank you.
