Dear regulators,

As someone who has engaged in invasive plant removal on my own property and as a volunteer on both sides of the state (Bristol and Chesterfield County), I encourage the adoption of this regulation. I have removed all of these species and found them to be nearly impossible to remove. None of them, to my knowledge, have any economic value.

I am also writing to ask you to consider adding english ivy, miscanthus, wintercreeper, and privet. All of these plants escape cultivation quite easily, destroy native ecosystems, and are difficult to control.

In Bristol’s historic Citizen’s Cemetery, the graves are actively endangered by all four species, and their presence makes it impossible to mow with normal equipment, making the area an urban blight. Wintercreeper and ivy are also destroying the large trees.
