Virginia's participation in the RGGI is a beacon of hope in the South

Since joining the RGGI, Virginia's power plant emissions have dropped more than 16% and the state has received roughly 6 million dollars allowing Virginians to tackle climate change issues that affect their very livelihood and lives. We are a shining star amongst other Southern states who care little about the lives of their citizens. Why does our Governor care so little about Virginians and their survival??
We don't mind paying an extra $2-3 on our energy bill. We SHOULD be using less electricity. We should face penalties for using more than we need.  We need to work together to combat climate change and this abuse of power lacks responsibility.
Of course, if the Governor helps to create a world in which humans can no longer exist, he doesn't have to worry about his legacy.
