I support the strongest regulations reasonably possible to protect the health of women. Most women walk into an abortion clinic healthy and walk out injured and ill. These reasonable emergency regulations were implemented to protect the health of women and they need to stay in place permanently.
These emergency regulations passed and enacted by the Virginia Board of Health began to treat abortions centers more like hospitals, ensuring that they would be better equipped to deal with medical emergencies resulting from injuries caused by abortions. And these medical emergencies do exist, as even one Planned Parenthood spokeswoman admitted. Virginians want these regulations to be permanent for the protection of women and the prevention of heinous incidences like the kind linked with Dr. Brigham.
