The 2011 General Assembly session enacted emergency regulations which caused abortions centers to be treated more like hospitals so as to ensure that they would be better equipped to deal with medical emergencies resulting from injuries caused by abortions.
The Board of Health now needs to decide whether these regulations will be re-enacted as permanent regulations. The Board of Health needs to accept the strongest possible regulations, and that these be permanent.
These regulations have huge life-saving potential; they were designed to guarantee safe and sanitary conditions for women procuring abortions. As long as women are making the unfortunate decisions that lead to abortion, we need to guarantee their health and welfare through such a brutal ordeal.
Remember Dr. Brigham? As owner of abortion centers in VA, he has been charged with murder counts in Maryland for ending the lives of children who were just weeks from being born. He has also been linked to the severe injuring of women. With new and strong abortion center regulations, VA will now be able to investigate and address these types of centers.
