Leaving RGGI is illogical, ill-advised, and illegal

Virginians have been reaping the benefits of the RGGI program via improved energy efficiency for low-income households, improved flood resilience, and - most importantly - reduced greenhouse gas emissions.  We need to do our part to cut climate pollution, and RGGI has a proven track record of being a cost-effective measure to decarbonize the grid.

The costs to Virginians are very modest, and a strong majority of voters want to stay in the system.

It's not logical to exit the system.  Rather than showing conservative leadership that saves our country for future generations, it panders to the selfish worst of the "don't tread on me" viewpoint of those who aren't willing to pay anything that isn't in their immediate self-interest. And it's not legal to reverse, via executive action, a program that was duly enacted by the GA and Governor.

Leaving RGGI is illogical, ill-advised, and illegal.
