Don't cut off your nose to spite your face! That is exactly what the Governor and the Health Dept. are doing in imposing such unreasonable standards for women's health centers. There will be more, not less, of the following:
Back-alley abortions.
Illegal abortions
Unwanted children
Increased expense for wefare children
Deaths from unsafe abortions
But then what else would you expect from a Governor who went to Notre Dame and Pat Robertson University Law School(otherwise known as Regent Univ.) and wants to impose his personal and religious views on all Virginians. He is violating his oath to uphold the Constitution which forbids the government establishment of religion (separation of church and state).
It is time to let the Governor and the fanatical Robert Marshall (that extremist who uses his position in the legislature to promulgate his personal and religious views) that neither the government nor anyone except a woman and her physician has any right to make a personal decision regarding having a child or having an abortion.
In a representative democracy, elected delegates and senators are supposed to represent the views of their constituents, the majority of whom still believe in a woman's individual right to choose what she wants for herself and not wha the government tells her she wants. The fanatical anti-abortionists should keep their personal views to themselves - it's none of their business what another woman chooses to do.
Republicans need to do what they say - get government out of the personal lives of individuals - that includes women, too! CF
