As a resident of Virginia, I am worried that religion is supplanting science in many areas of public well-being, especially healthcare. Our healthcare system is already broken and it will never be fixed so long as we refuse to base our policy decisions on sound science. Without science, we run the risk of falling further and further behind as a nation. The TRAP laws are a prime example of religion tampering with the health and safety of Virginia women as the regulations are not based on any scientific data whatsoever but are instead the result of of religious as well as partisan intrusion (as the recent expose of Ken Cuccinelli's interference shows).
Please, do not let women's health be the latest casualty of the culture wars.
