I support the proposed rules prohibiting discrimination in adoption and foster care placements on the basis of race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status.  All that should matter is the ability of the person/couple/family to provide a caring and safe environment for a child who needs it.  The State Board of Social Services should restore to the final rules the protections against such discrimination included in the proposed rules.
