Stay in RGGI

RGGI is an important regional initiative that uses a proven market based mechanism to reduce GHG emissions while helping those most in need. RGGI funds have been of critical assistance to the weatherization program that targets our most vulnerable citizens as well as for flood mitigation - a critical issue particularly in Hampton Roads where we are based. RGGI funds are ongoing in nature and allow for certainty of execution of these programs going forward. Further, from an economic development perspective, it is imperative that Virginia win the business of national and multinational companies looking to locate or expand in our state. Businesses will look at Virginia's policies around GHG reductions and resiliency when making their site location decisions- and RGGI is part of that policy platform. It is a win-win-win for the citizens of Virginia, for our health, and for maintaining Virginia as a national leader in the clean energy economy.
