Keep Virginia in RGGI

Virginia should continue participation in RGGI.  It is important to our youth and to attract business to show that Virginia is invested in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and working to protect our Commonwealth's resources for the future.  This program is providing essential support to rural communities that are very vulnerable to flood damage.  It has also provided much needed assistance with energy-efficiency in low-income communities. It is difficult to escape the burden of poorly insulated and poorly heated houses without additional resources, and the RGGI program is already making improvements in the lives of Virginians.  For many of us in rural communities, there are opportunities to develop solar generating stations, and pumped water generation, and the incentives for power companies from participation in RGGI will help develop these renewable fuel sources bringing more self-sufficiency and economic benefits to our communities. Please don’t abandon Virginia’s rural and low-income communities.  RGGI has been and can continue to be a great help to us.
