Keep RGGI!

Our General Assembly passed legislation in 2020 authorizing Virginia to join RGGI. It is an important program, for many reasons, including: it generates funds that are used to reduce energy bills for low income households and for planning for and mitigating recurrent flooding; it generates related jobs (e.g., electricians, HVAC professionals); it reduces emissions and improves public health.

We Virginians pay high electricity bills. That's because our utilities servicing most Virginians (Dominion and Appalachian Power) have been able to influence utility codes to their advantages, not ours. That's where Governor Youngkin should put his attention.

Thank you.
