RGGI

Hello,

I am very concerned that Governor Youngkin has started his attempt to withdraw us from RGGI.

First of all, it's not even legal. Our participation is mandated by law and his administration can't just disregard it because they don't like it.

Second, we need it to help reduce emissions so we can slow global warming and improve air quality. RGGI has a long record of emissions reductions and it's well worth a try in Virginia!

Third, we need the funding it generates to provide low-income families with energy-efficient homes and dedicated funding to plan for and prevent recurring flooding.

Finally, a better way to lower our utility rates would be to focus our energy on reforming the utility code, not repealing RGGI.

Thank you.
