Plan to end RGGI participation

I am disturbed about Governor Youngkin's decision to unilaterally end participation in the RGGI.  This is law passed by the General Assembly.  He does not have the power to ignore the law.  Only the General Assemble can do that.

We do not need more air pollution.  My husband has had asthma since childhood.  He does well now, but if air pollution increases he will probably not be able to maintain control.  He had an awful time during that fire in the Great Dismal Swamp some years ago.

Also, we need affordable housing!   After this last increase in property values due to people paying more and more during the Covid 19 in the last two years, housing is more expensive and rents are going up and getting out of the range of the average person/family.  People need access to weatherization programs to help make heating more affordable.

Several years ago I was horrified to learn that Dominion Virginia Power writes the regulator laws (a friend of my husband proudly to us that that is what his daughter does).  That is like letting the fox guard the hen house!

Please don't allow these changes!
