Stay in RGGI now or pay much more later

Walking away from RGGI would result in higher costs in the long run for Virginians.  RGGI's cap and trade program means polluters pay more, but this money is returned to the taxpayers by addressing energy efficiency measures for our most vulnerable and helping to combat coastal and urban flooding - the direct result of burning fossil fuels.  It has been demonstrated over the years of operation to reduce pollution and create a healthier and safer environment overall for its state's communities.  Getting out now may save a very small amount of money for Virginia residents now, but it will result in far greater costs in the future.  It is very short sighted to focus on today and not tomorrow and future generations.
