The placement of a child in a homosexual, transgender, or other alternative lifestyle family should be illegal in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is due to the fact that so many times the person who has made that lifestyle choice is in transition themselves or in a constant state of transition. Therefore, to make a child who is already transitioning from a stable environment to an unknown environment endure the additional stress of the continuing transition of the prospective parent would cause undue harm to the child. In addition, there have be no valid studies done as to the nature of the GLBT community and their mental state, therefore it should be identified as a mental illness as any other mental illness and be disqualifying.
