There are those, motivated through ignorance and fear, who hold firm to the belief that LGBT parents could "confuse" or otherwise "damage" children. There is a mountain of scientific evidence that unequivocally demonstrates that LGBT parents are every bit as capable as heterosexual parents in raising a healthy, well adjusted child. Aligning Virginia's regulation with the scientific evidence would benefit children who desperately need a home and who will benefit from loving adoptive parents, LGBT or otherwise, who are ready to provide for their health and security.
