I urge the Board to adopt and enforce non-discrimination in all state adoption and foster care agencies. The removal of protections against discrimination are undoubtedly founded in the desire of some to punish and marginalize people who are different, especially those who are gay and lesbian. In fact, disqualifying capable parents because of their sexual orientation punishes only the children who need safe and loving homes. There is no credible evidence to support discrimination against these prospective parents. Please don't punish the children by allowing discrimination.
