The Governor is wrong, wrong, wrong to propose leaving the regional greenhouse gas initiative. Our global climate is changing, and we need broad, creative solutions to deal with it. Burying Virginia’s head in the sand, refusing to cooperate with partners in other states, and continuing to pretend that the cost of addressing environmental disaster can be put off till another day, or pawned off onto the next administration, is the definition of foolhardiness. True conservatives should embrace solutions like carbon markets that count the real cost of damage to our environment and seek to reverse unsustainable trends. Leaving RGGI is shameful.
