As one who cares deeply about the environmental impact of water pollution on the health of the environment, I urge you to protect water quality by strictly regulating septic systems in the Commonwealth.  Please take the following actions to protect the environmental quality of life in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

• Continue to prohibit septic systems in wetlands.
• Continue to enforce reductions in nitrogen pollution in the watershed.
• Stop allowing systems where the ground does not percolate.
• Stop allowing septic wastes to enter ground water.
