I am 100% opposed to a continuing education requirement.

I experienced this in North Carolina.  All it is, is an excuse to funnel money into the pockets of those providing 'approved' continuing education programs.  A look at the programs approved by other states shows a large number of soft skills and ethics centered courses.  The idea being promoted to get the hours the easiest way possible, and/or in as desirable a location possible.

The code of ethics already requires everyone to only take on those tasks for which they are qualified, so if someone really needs some education, they will get it.

In looking over the statutory actions taken by the board yearly, I am unaware that I have ever seen much in the way of violations that any mandatory continuing education program would address.  Spend the money that would go into monitoring this on better enforcement of the statutes already extant.
