PE CE is not possible to effectively regulate.

The idea of regulating continuing education for PE is not grounded in reality, at best. The act of attaining a PE is, in and of itself, a sign that the individual being licensed is sufficiently dedicated to his/her field of expertise. The idea that the state should (or even knows how to) mandate who would require what type of CE is absurd. Each individual grows a certain level of tribal knowledge and required CE just to stay on top in their discipline.  I think the state should stay out of this arena and allow the professionals be just that, professional.
