Support Continuing Education in Virginia

I am registered in three states.  Virginia is the only one of these states that does not currently require continuing education.  Requiring continuing education is certainly no hardship for me; I support requiring continuing education in Virginia.

I find that CE does provide a benefit.  What we learned in school, and what we learn from product vendors is either out of date or suspect.  I continue to hear "myths" repeated by professional engineers and unfortunately used in designs; education will hopefully dispel these myths and replace them with facts.  Examples of myths and just bad engineering especially surround the energy field; the only way to improve the situation and minimize the repetition of poor and outdated design is through education.

Engineering is the application of science and technology.  Both are rapidly changing.
