Relax - Education Requirements Are Not A Burden

I’m a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia and Kansas. Kansas PE’s have had an education requirement of 30 hours for about ten years now. For me it really hasn’t been a problem. My Kansas license renewal is due this year and to date I have 38 hours on the books. The 8 additional hours will carry over to the next renewal period. The Virginia requirement of 16 hours per two year period is lenient. I attend workshops, conferences, training classes, both as a student and instructor, which all counts. Examine your schedule for the past two years. How often have you attended a class, workshop or conference? If your schedule is like mine you will have no problem meeting the 16 required hours.
