As a mechanical contractor and practicing engineer, I am constantly reviewing the codes and issues that pertain to my profession.  I am licensed in other states as well, and have found the available continuing education courses to be of little or no benefit.  They are also costly and take time away from actual work.  Most engineers and architects keep up with their profession.  Those that do not, would not benefit with the continuing education requirement.
