Continuing Education

My experience tells me that the issue of continuing education has been settled within state government.  Regardless of the comments received during this public comment period, continuing education requirements are going to be, or more correctly will continue to be required.  Since most assuredly we are going to continue to be required to have continuing education, my request would be that one semester hour's work in a college or university would equal the total number of credits required for renewal of at least one renewal period.  The proposed legislation states, "Individuals are required to complete at least sixteen continuing education credit hours of board-approved continuing education activities for any license renewal or reinstatement."  It goes on to state, "One semester credit hour of approved college credit shall equal 15 continuing education credit hours and one….”  My request is that these two quantities match, i.e. the continuing education credits are reduced to 15 hours and the one semester course stay at 15 CEH or the CEH requirement stay at 16 but the one semester course be raised to 16 CEH.
