Strongly oppose and if a reality should only apply to new PE's

I am strongly opposed to your proposed regulation to implement a mandatory continuing education program for professional engineer license renewal. This would create an undo burden on my already extremely busy work life, not to mention the cost. This represents just one more straw on the camel’s back and I beg you to not break it! I am totally strapped with time management trying keep up with 2 jobs and staying up on my technical expertise without now having to try and check off something that you want to add to my list. If you want to pile on more requirements then grandfather existing professional engineers. We are in the work force already committed to work obligations and went through your existing criteria to get a VA PE. Please do not change the rules after the fact. If you think you need to take actions that you think are raising the bar (which I disagree with) on getting, and renewing a VA PE license than make it applicable to only new licenses. This way the professional worker can choose if they want to pursue licensure in VA or choose to go somewhere else. I really fear even this type of action because the camel’s nose would now under the tent and will soon get in. Above statement is probably not worth the time because it seems you have already made up your minds. Please minimize the bureaucracy we will have to navigate, for instance make one college credit equal to 16 continuing credits, not 15 which is 1 short of the requirement to renew. I can not fully comment on just what you think is “board-approved” continuing education because you have not given any examples in plain language and this type of language scares me. Please remember we have to make the time and put up the cost for your decisions. Thank you for your time.
