Commenter: William A. Lucas, P.E. - retired engineer living in Florida

Why?

I have always supported CE on a voluntary basis.  Helps us keep current and can broaden knowledge - etc.   But why make CE an annual requirement?  Is there a specific problem or an area of engineering that's need our attention?  If there is - spell it out and then regulate a specific requirement for CE to solve the problem.   Otherwise, we'll see a whole bunch of bogus CE courses offered to 'meet' the annual requirement.  How about a weekend hands-on seminar in golf course design/construction/maintenance by Robert Trent?  Practical and fun.

For this retired fee paying engineer, if this passes without addressing  specific current needs I'll be saving some money every 2 years when I elect NOT to renew my license.
