Proposed rule would have no benefit to me.

I currently work in the natural gas industry.  The proposed rule states that I would have to earn 16 hours of education in my field of practice every two years.  There is not, and will not be, formal classes in the natural gas or petroleum industry offered in the state of Virginia that is acceptable to the board.  Currently, I keep up to date by reading trade journals and attend seminars on different subjects in my field.  I would not receive any credit for these under the proposed rule.   Therefore, to get my 16 hours of credit, I would have to travel out of state (typically to the Houston, TX area) to take subject matter courses, or take project management courses, etc. multiple times over the years to meet the rule.  In summary, this rule would not continue my education over what I am doing now and would create enormous burden of cost and time just to keep my P.E.
