Is is too late to reverse the law?

It's apparent that there is opposition to the new law.  Unfortunately it came too quickly for most professionals to respond.  I appeared before the committee to voice my opposition but even at that stage, it was too late.  The bill was ramrod through the assembly.

I agree with so many other professionals in our industry that our training comes to us on a daily basis but we don't get credit for our hours of learning because no one is present to prove that we learned something.

Unless there are enough voices to reverse the law, then we better make certain that this law works for us.

The law should not be a burden, particularly for state agencies that employ architects and engineers and pay for their license.  There must be adequate free seminars to keep costs down.

I walk out of many seminars without learning anything new.  It's difficult to find courses that meet the level that many professionals require that have been in the business for decades.  At this point courses are being reviewed by AIA or NSPE for approval as continuing education.  We hope that DPOR will be lenient in the proof of our education and will be willing to accept courses that do not have AIA and NSPE attached.
