Continuing Education Requirement Burdensome and Unnecessary

Dear Sir or Madam:

I find the proposed regulation and requirement for continuing education for Professional Engineers to be burdensome and unnecessary.

To obtain 8 CEU's per year on a continual basis will require much inconvienience in the way of finding, registering for, taking, paying for, and record keeping of said classes.  Any additional education so provided, will add little to the engineer's basic lot of knowledge, and cannot hope to educate one who is not qualifed to hold the title.  The only practical effect of this requirement is the dropping of registration of those who feel burdunded by this, and therefore a reduction in the amount of competent engineers available to the citizens of Virginia.

I don't believe that this serves any public interest, except for the paying of money to those who would teach us such wonderful things, keep track of our educational gains, and thereby save doom to the Commonwealth.

Please vote against this proposal.
